1. General questions
What does ATP stand for?
Academie Tokyo-Paris (Tokyo-Paris Academy)
What is ATP?
It’s a language school which teaches French and Japanese. 
It also has parties, cultural activities and different services.
When did ATP start?
ATP opened on July 22nd, 2006.  However, the school had been
created six months earlier by Kyoko Kaneko, professor, writer,
and talented illustrator who unfortunately passed away six months
later.
2. Classes
What types of classes does ATP offer?
At this time, the ATP French section offers 6 types of different
classes: conversation, grammar, listening and dictation,
reading and vocabulary, pronunciation, and French current affairs.
The ATP Japanese section gives general Japanese classes targeted
at foreigners, whether or not they are French speakers.
How long do classes last?
Most of the classes last 90 minutes
How many students are there in each class?
The number of students is limited to 10 and in principle classes will
open with a minimum of 5 students.  Right now the largest classes
have 7 students.
What kind of texts and other materials are used?
That depends on the classes.  In fact, the teachers themselves are free
to choose the textbooks or materials they believe best adapted to their
needs.
Can someone register for several classes at the same time?
It’s possible.  Many classes are complementary, such as grammar
and conversation or pronunciation and conversation.
Can someone register during a trimester?
It’s possible with the consent of the teacher.
3. Levels
How many levels are there?
The classes are divided into five levels:
1 (elementary), 2 (semi-elementary), 3 (intermediate),
4 (intermediate-advanced), and 5 (advanced). 
At this time classes from levels 1 to 4 are offered but it is
always possible to open new ones, according to demand.
Can someone attend a class as an observer before registering?  Is it free?
Observation classes are free.  Before attending, the student must
contact the administration.
Can someone guess his or her own level, without attending an observation class?
It’s possible, by consulting the explanatory material on the homepage. 
Changing classes is allowed, even for trimester classes, depending on
the availability of space.
4. Class schedules and school calendar
Are there classes every day?
ATP is open every day from Monday to Sunday, except for holidays.
Is the school open all year?
ATP is closed during certain vacation periods, such as winter
vacation or Golden Week.  For more details, consult the school’s
trimester calendar (under the heading “French” or “Japanese”)
5. Teachers
Are the teachers foreigners or Japanese?
The school employs French and Japanese teachers. 
Almost all of them are at least bilingual.
Are all the teachers experienced?
Yes, the teachers at ATP have long educational or
professional experience (at least 15 years for the most part).
6. Fees and methods of payment
How much do the classes cost?
Each class costs 3000 yen and the student signs up for a trimester.
The school fees are proportional to the number of classes per trimester.
11 classes: 33,000 yen, 12 classes: 36,000 yen, 13 classes: 39.000 yen.
What are the methods of payment?
Two options are offered: a one-time payment or monthly payment
 ( in three installments).  In all cases, the students are required to pay
for their classes by the 26th of the month before the first class of the
trimester or month.  When students sign up during the trimester,
they must make a one-time payment for the remaining classes.
How is payment made?
Payment is made by automatic transfer or deposit to the following

Is there a school entrance fee?
Yes.  It is 8000 yen.
7. Absences
What to do in the case of an anticipated absence?
It is advisable to inform the teacher.  He can thus put aside for the
student the materials that were given out in class during the student’s
absence.
Can someone be reimbursed  in the case of a long absence?
This is possible only for cases of serious illness, prolonged
hospitalization, or unexpected transfer to another region.
8. Private classes and company classes
Are there private classes?
There are, depending on the availability of space.  However,
the fees are different from those of group classes.

9. Sponsorship
What is the sponsorship system?
A sponsor who has introduced a student deemed to be registered for at
least one trimester will receive a discount of 8,000 yen, to be used
for school fees of the following trimester.
10. Soirées de France
What are “Soirées de France” about?
These are organized around French or French-speaking guests. 
An interpreter will provide Japanese translation.  These parties
generally take place in a restaurant reserved for the occasion or
on the premises of the guest, if he or she is a craftsman.  They take
place most often on the last Friday or Saturday of the month, from
7:00 pm.  The details are provided on the flyers and the ATP
